Staffing

The facility is staffed by a mix of salaried management and assistants, but relies heavily on the time given by a large group of volunteers from the community.

The GAC is a unique art venue with a Public Gallery, A Coffee House for poetry, music & meetings, a retail Gallery Shoppe and a Native Gallery. We are also a teaching facility that offers various art classes and workshops for all ages, and spring and summer camps for children. The GAC is York Region District School Board approved as a field trip destination and we host thousands of school children each year.
The GAC is a registered non-profit charity and we rely on the support of our members in order to flourish.
Members receive many benefits by joining including; our quarterly Gazette mailed to your home, discounts at local businesses, discounts in our retail and art supplies shops and invitations to special events at the GAC.

There are numerous positions for volunteers; Board Member, Coffee Shop tending, reception host/greeters, tending to our little garden, keeping the bulletin boards up to date and neat, contributions to the newsletter, gallery, fundraising, and preparation of shows and fundraising events.
