The Georgina Arts Centre (GAC) has a number of options for artists to display their works.

However, to begin with, every artist should create a submission “package” so that galleries (and colleges/universities!) get a solid grasp of you and your work.   

To build your Submission Package, you will need:

• Photos of your pieces printed out and set in a presentation folder. The photos should have the Artist Name, Title of Work, Measurements of Work, Date of Completion, and Medium (ie, charcoal, oils, acrylics, etc) attached. 
• A separate List of the Works (with prices)
• A CV (Curriculum Vitae – details of the artist’s past exhibits, awards, etc)
• An Artist’s Statement (what you do and why you do it)
• A Contact Information sheet
• A head shot photo of the artist
• A short Cover Letter stating the nature of the artist’s request

 Please mark any mailed (or delivered) submission with
“Attention: Curator – For Submission” on the outside of the envelope.

The GAC accepts all submission packages.  Then a Selection/Curatorial Committee decides what is “show worthy” and where the “ready to hang” works would best fit into the gallery functions.  Honestly, although this process may seem daunting, we are here to lend a hand and it is rare that properly submitted artwork is rejected - we are here to encourage artists in their quest to exhibit, not inhibit them. 

  The GAC has a number of Locations to Exhibit for which artists can submit their work:

• The Gallery Shoppe has a year-long contract where 2-4 pieces can be displayed (maximum to total of 4 sq. ft).  There is a nominal contract/commission fee and the intake, once accepted, is immediate. 
• A solo and/or shared “themed” exhibit in the Main Gallery.  This is a longer process (the GAC is currently booking exhibits into 2014), but there is no submission/contract fee, only a commission upon sales at this time.
• The GAC also offers three Juried Competitions per year, which any artist can enter
• Our Satellite Galleries located off-site in places such as the Georgina Libraries are also available for exhibits.
